Global Investors Meet 2024

Cosmicport formalized its commitment to Tamil Nadu’s growing space and defense sector at the Global Investors Meet (GIM) 2024 in Chennai. As part of this initiative, Cosmicport signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu for a ₹200 crore investment focused on strengthening space and defense infrastructure in Thoothukudi.

₹200 Crore Investment Commitment

The MoU represents Cosmicport’s planned ₹200 crore investment in Tamil Nadu. During the District Investment Conclave held on November 30, 2023, MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi presented the executed MoU to Cosmicport representatives.

The investment reflects Cosmicport’s commitment to establishing and expanding its presence in Thoothukudi while contributing to the region’s developing space technology ecosystem.

R&D Facility in Thoothukudi

As part of this commitment, Cosmicport is constructing its headquarters in Thoothukudi. The development includes an initial 15,000 sq. ft. research and development facility situated on 1.4 acres.

The R&D facility forms an important part of Cosmicport’s expansion plans and provides dedicated infrastructure to support the company’s space technology development activities.

Supporting Tamil Nadu’s Space Technology Ecosystem

Tamil Nadu is developing its presence in the space and defense sector, and Cosmicport’s planned investment in Thoothukudi aligns with this growing ecosystem. Establishing dedicated research and development infrastructure will strengthen Cosmicport’s operational base as the company continues developing its space technologies.
