SPARC Test Facility

SPARC Test Facility

Cosmicport established its SPARC (Space Propulsion and Rocket Cryogenics) test facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, to support the development and qualification of cryogenic methalox propulsion systems. Built on dedicated land near the upcoming Kulasekarapattinam spaceport, the facility strengthens Cosmicport’s propulsion testing capabilities in India.

Cryogenic Methalox Propulsion Testing

SPARC is designed to support high-pressure testing of rocket engines and propulsion subsystems, enabling Cosmicport to validate critical technologies required for methane–oxygen propulsion development and qualification.

Testing ~100 kN Thrust-Class Engines and Subsystems

The facility supports engines and subsystems in the ~100 kN thrust class, providing infrastructure for propulsion testing, subsystem validation and future engine qualification activities.

Propulsion Infrastructure in Thoothukudi

Located in Thoothukudi near the upcoming Kulasekarapattinam spaceport, SPARC represents an important step in expanding private-sector propulsion infrastructure and supporting the development of launch and propulsion technologies from Tamil Nadu.
