Cosmicport, a space technology startup, is building a launch vehicle tailored for small and medium-range satellites, in addition to advancing Earth Observation Satellites (EOS) designed for Sun-Synchronous Orbits (SSO) to serve commercial entities. Our cost-effective reusable launch vehicle provides precise and dependable launch solutions, facilitating the establishment of constellation platforms. The role offered involves significant contributions to mechanical design for the assembly of subsystems in satellites, as well as hold-down and release mechanisms for solar panels and antennas. The incumbent will be an integral part of the Research and Development (R&D) satellite team.
Responsibilities:
- Create 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
- Perform structural and thermal analysis to ensure the integrity of components under various space environments and launch conditions.
- Work along with system engineers to accommodate various satellite components.
- Analyse and provide insights on the mass distribution properties of the satellite.
- Assist in engineering fabrication drawings.
- Integration of mechanical components related to test setup.
- Assisting other team members from multiple disciplines to achieve their goals.
Basic Qualification:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or any other relevant discipline 0-2 years experience in designing mechanical components using CAD
Preferred Skills:
- Have a basic understanding of the satellite subsystems.
- Knowledge of Orbital Mechanics.
- High degree of attention to detail.
- Demonstrated capability to efficiently work with little to no supervision.
- Proficiency in CAD software: SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA with experience in FEA, and CFD.
Compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis with consideration of knowledge, skills, education, and experience. You may be eligible for annual bonuses. Insurance coverages and retirement plans are being worked upon and will be disclosed after hire.
