Cosmicport, a space technology startup, is building a launch vehicle tailored for small and medium-range satellites, in addition to advancing Earth Observation Satellites (EOS) designed for Sun-Synchronous Orbits (SSO) to serve commercial entities. Our cost-effective reusable launch vehicle provides precise and dependable launch solutions, facilitating the establishment of constellation platforms. The role being offered involves significant contributions to the design, simulation, integration, and testing of the propulsion system, and the incumbent will be an integral part of the Research and Development (R&D) Launch Vehicle team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance on the design, development, and optimization of reusable small satellite launch vehicles.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and address challenges related to reusability.
- Offer insights on industry best practices and emerging trends in launch vehicle reusability.
- Mentor and advise team members to enhance their understanding of reusability principles.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in the design and operation of reusable launch vehicles.
- In-depth knowledge of reusability technologies and best practices.
- Proven track record of successful advisory/mentorship roles in the space industry.
- Familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities in small satellite launch vehicles.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in reusable launch vehicle projects.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
ITAR Regulations:
This role might be subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) depending on the area/field of focus.
Compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis with consideration of knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
